ALMOST FARCICAL

"LETDOWN THE CURTAIN, THE FARCE IS DONE"
                                                                                Rabelais
                                                                                (1490-1553)

I've come to a point where after reading and hearing much chatter about the new healthcare reform 'proposals' coming out of the US Congress, that it's really too much to bear. I'm so sick of the lies and distortions coming from the far right and others opposed to progress in this country, that lending any further credibility to the discourse only gives undeserved status to the myths that abound. Therefore I write one of my hopefully last blogs on this subject with a touch of humor.

It's become very clear to me that no amount of evidence of fact supplied to the Republicans, Conservatives, Right-wingers, and downright Wing nuts, is going to make a bit of difference to them. They have made it clear that they want to have their way at any cost and to maintain the 'status quo'. And no one is going to convince them otherwise.

The progressives on the left and the middle have made a valiant effort to try and have decent and honest dialogue on this crucial aspect of our futures, and have been shouted down and in some cases had physical threats delivered to them. The President now has only one remaining course of action and that is to take his message directly to the American people in the form of an Oval Office address. I feel that by doing so he will be able to quell the apparent uprising brought about those previously mentioned, and explain to the vast MAJORITY of us just what he was elected to do and proclaim his mandate.

And for the Bacusus's and Grassley's, and Palin's, and Limbaugh's, and Hannity's I give to you yet another of Rabelais' quotes.

"Above the Pitch,Out of Tune, and Off the Hinges"
